Paul Rimington – Principal Consultant
Paul’s business career has seen him gain exposure to markets in the United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, all of Asia and the Western Pacific, and Australia. That business exposure has been in manufacture and distribution, in both direct and indirect channels, and with teams from eleven to three hundred and fifty members.
At various stages of his career, Paul has held the positions of: Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Australia of a global telecommunications company; Asia President of a US software company; Managing Director, Australia, of a Fortune 50 aerospace and defence contractor, and; General Manager Sales and Marketing, of a major consulting company.
After the successful sale in 2004 of his equity in a software manufacturing company he had co-founded, Paul created the boutique consulting enterprise Cardif Pty Limited. Projects undertaken include the Asia/Pacific market opportunity review for a Canadian listed energy company; the operations audit of a Japanese computer printer manufacturer; the business plan and opportunity review for an Australian telecommunications distributor; and the preparation for capital-raising in Australia of a Canadian bio-technology company.
For the last 2½ years, Cardif has provided consulting services to a regional not-for-profit organisation, delivering both State and Federal Government general management consulting services to the SME sector. Those Business Advisory Services were designed to assist the development of a more robust regional economy. Functional review projects for the Defence Department and the Regional Futures Institute, together with an analysis of business assistance programs delivered by NSW and Federal programs have also been completed.
Paul holds the degrees of BSc (Comm.) and MBA with an Entrepreneurial Studies major. He has also completed research in measurement and control systems within the performance management field of organisational governance, for the award of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
